Competencies

NICEIC is the UK electrical contracting industry’s independent voluntary body. They offer leading certification services, Building Regulations Schemes, products and support to electrical contractors and many other trades within the construction industry.

Gas Safe Register is the official body for gas safety in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey.
Whenever anyone carries out work on your gas appliances, by law they must be on the Gas Safe Register.

FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme and ensures that double glazing companies in England and Wales, registered with FENSA can self-certify that their work complies with the Building Regulations for windows and doors without the need for certification by Building Control.

The National Flood School disseminates and shares knowledge in the continual pursuit of excellence in the field of property restoration as a result of fire and flood damage.

Partnerships
We are partnered with Allerdale Borough Council Building Control Department under the LABC partnership scheme. This means we are working closely with Allerdale to improve the building control process we follow. Through our partnership we are working on a number of projects to innovate the quality and sustainability of the repairs we do.

The 2000 Building Regulations became effective on 1 January 2001 and they specify the function that the building or element must perform to. They however do not specify how any work should be carried out. The regulations are supported by a series of Approved Documents which offer guidance on ways of satisfying the mandatory functional requirements and you get download copies from:
